Nikkei Spotlight Series is an online speaker series created for our community to celebrate the voices of Japanese Canadians and Americans, as well as those who have connections to Japan, giving talks on their field of expertise. Our vision is to spread awareness about professionals in our communities, including but not limited to artists, authors and academics, who are breaking barriers and doing formative work to help raise awareness of a global Japanese diaspora. Episode One features Dr. Lisa Hofmann-Kuroda with her talk entitled, "Who Speaks: Teaching and Translating Japanese from a Language Justice Perspective."
